An own-goal from Inigo Martinez as early
as the second minute was enough for Manchester United to see off Real
Sociedad at Old Trafford and move top of Group A.
Martinez deflected the ball into his own
net after just 69 seconds after Wayne Rooney's initial effort cannoned
back off the far post.
United capitalised on Shakhtar's heavy
defeat by Leverkusen as they finished the night top of Group A with
seven points from their three games.
