The
40Th Edition of CECAFA-KAGAME Club Cup Championship draws took place in
Kigali Capital City, Rwanda this Friday with CECAFA, FERWAFA,
SUPPERSPORT and Top Government officials witnessing the ceremony.The
tournament which has attracted a record 14 clubs will now kick off on
August 8th and not 9th and end on 24th, one day more from the earlier
schedule. A totalof 34 matches – all to be shown live by Supersport will
be staged at Amahoro and Nyamirambo Stadium.President
Kagame of Rwanda who is also the patron of CECAFA has already committed
USD 60,000 prize money and the Ministry of Sports and other agencies
are sponsoring the event.
Several
companies in Rwanda have pledged their total support for the event
which will mark 20th anniversary of Rwanda genocide. The fixtures and
time schedules will be released next week. However, the playing Groups
are as below:
