ACCOUNTANT – 1 Post
Reports to: Plant Manager

Responsible
for planning, organizing, staff and development of Plant financial
affairs and marketing activities under the supervision of Plant Manager
Office for the accounting functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Accounts section, managing, mentoring and motivating the team.
- Undertake monthly/annual staff reviews.
- Ensure that procedures are properly documented.
- To supervise staff under you and ensure that financial, procurement and supplies related matters are practiced in accordance to the prevailing regulations.
- In charge of all financial activities in TANESCO Mtwara, including control of budget expenditure and providing budget with financial information that meet each section need.
- Preparing annual budget and updates forecasts as necessary and present the budget to Plant management.
- Responsible for the correct operation and allocation of works orders and keep its records including R&M management.
- Responsible for safe custody of safe keys, cheque books, LPO’s and any other important financial documents.
- Certifying local purchase orders, payment vouchers and be second cheque signatory adhering to the authorization limits stipulated in the company’s financial regulations.
- Pursue personnel development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the function.
- Perform related duties as required or assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements;
- A good bachelor degree in Accountancy, Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy, BAF or its equivalent in the field
- At least 2 years working experience
- CPA will be an added advantage
ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT ( 1 POST MTWARA GAS PLANT)

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Accurately
and timely preparation, allocation, posting and reporting of all
capital works orders, and preparing all necessary certificates.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure correct operation and allocation of capital works orders (CWO), R&M Works Orders, and Changeable Works Orders etc.
- To prepare all necessary certificates promptly as instructed in the accounting instruction and other reports and submit to relevant authorities.
- To maintain proper records of all works orders opened and closed.
- To perform any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Ordinary certificate of secondary education and above
- Holder of ATEC II or Ordinary Diploma in accountancy
- At least 3 years’ experience in a reputable company
- Good communication and customer care skills
- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili
- Advanced computer skills
